The good news is that this broth is relatively simple to prepare, in addition to being cruelly effective to detoxify the body. What is it called? Miso soup is the same one that is usually served in the United States to accompany sushi. Crazy, right?

Miso Soup: An Almost Magical Broth

Why do we consider miso soup to be an excellent broth to get our body back on track after a period of excess? Because it is both digestible and detoxifying. Made of only two ingredients (known to be excellent diet allies), namely soy and wakame seaweed, it is a broth that is both hydrating and an appetite suppressant. It’s not surprising, then, that its virtues are praised by many people. 

According to nutrition experts who have studied the issue, a single bowl of miso soup contains only 84kcal. Without lactose, gluten, or fat, this soup adapts to all types of diets and provides the body with many essential nutrients (without being high in calories). Last but not least, miso soup would regenerate the intestinal flora – which tends to be damaged after periods of excess. One more proof that it is the soup that you should drink without moderation after the holidays to regain energy and appease your digestive system. 

Miso Soup, How To Prepare It?

It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to prepare a good miso soup. But first, you will have to go to an Asian supermarket to find all the ingredients you need. Beware of dehydrated miso soup preparations, they are often very salty and not very nutritious. 

Ingredients: 

– Dashi (dried bonito broth)

– White miso (usually sold in paste)

– Wakame seaweed (sold dehydrated)

– Firm tofu (sold in blocks in the fresh section)

– Possibly spring onions or spring onions for decoration

Preparation:

1. Start by cutting up the vegetables you want to use for topping. Then cut the firm tofu into small cubes.

2. In a large saucepan, boil half a liter of water and add a large tablespoon of dashi. Reduce the heat to a minimum and let it reduce.

3. In a bowl, put a good amount of white miso paste and loosen it with the broth. Once the mixture is well blended, you can add the contents of the bowl to your pot. Repeat the process until the broth is to your liking. 

4. In a bowl, place a few cubes of tofu, a pinch of wakame seaweed, and the sliced vegetables. Gently pour the broth over them and wait a few minutes before tasting.
