There's something almost mystical about walking into your house after a long day and being greeted by the sweet, savory aroma of Crock Pot Turkey Breast with Cranberry bubbling away. It's like getting a warm hug from your kitchen.

I stumbled into this recipe during a particularly chaotic November years ago. Between work deadlines and family commitments, the idea of roasting a whole turkey felt about as realistic as climbing Mount Everest in heels. But I still wanted that holiday feeling, you know? That's when I discovered the magic of making cranberry turkey breast recipes in my trusty slow cooker and honestly, I've never looked back.

Why You'll Love This Crock Pot Turkey Breast with Cranberry

Let's be real: this recipe is a lifesaver. Whether you're feeding just a few people or testing out your Thanksgiving main before the big day, this bone-in turkey breast in crock pot with cranberry sauce recipe delivers every single time.

The turkey comes out impossibly tender like, fork-tender without even trying. The cranberry sauce with orange juice creates this gorgeous glaze that tastes fancy but requires basically zero effort. And the best part? Your hands are free to tackle everything else on your to-do list while dinner handles itself.

Plus, if you're cooking for a smaller crew, this beats wrestling with a whole roasted turkey any day of the week.

What You'll Need

The beauty of this crock pot turkey breast recipe with cranberry is the simple ingredient list. Here's what to grab:

  • 3-pound boneless, skinless turkey breast (thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 14-ounce can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2-ounce envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

You can absolutely swap the cranberry sauce for tart cherry jam or even pineapple chutney if you're feeling adventurous. The turkey breast in crock pot recipe cranberry sauce recipe is forgiving like that.

How to Make It

Step 1: Spray your crock pot with nonstick cooking spray. This step saves you from a cleanup nightmare later trust me.

Step 2: Place your thawed turkey breast in the crock pot. Keep that netting on! It helps the turkey hold its shape. Save any gravy packet that comes with it for another use, or heat it up later as a bonus gravy situation.

Step 3: Spread the softened butter over the top of the turkey like you're tucking it in for a cozy nap. Sprinkle the sage, mustard powder, garlic powder, and onion soup mix all over. Don't be shy get in there.

Step 4: Pour the orange juice around the turkey, then dollop the cranberry sauce on top. Drizzle with maple syrup. It looks like a bit of a mess at this stage, but that's exactly what we want.

Step 5: Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3 hours. Your house will smell ridiculously good. This cranberry crockpot boneless turkey breast method is so hands-off, you could honestly forget about it (but please set a timer).

Step 6: Transfer the turkey to a serving plate and remove the netting. Slice it up it should practically fall apart.

Step 7: Strain those beautiful juices into a saucepan over medium-high heat. Mix the cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry, then whisk it into the saucepan. Keep whisking until the gravy thickens up. Pour this over your sliced turkey and prepare for applause.

Tips for Perfect Results

Want to nail this turkey breast in crock pot with cranberry sauce and apple cider variation? Try adding ¼ cup apple cider to the cooking liquid. It adds another layer of fall flavor that's just chef's kiss.

For extra richness, you can substitute the orange juice with a combination of orange juice and white wine. It makes the sauce taste like you spent hours on it when really, you were probably folding laundry or scrolling through your phone.

If you prefer a sweeter glaze, bump up the maple syrup to 3 tablespoons. And for a gorgeous presentation worthy of Allrecipes turkey breast with cranberry sauce, garnish with fresh cranberries and orange slices.

What to Serve Alongside

This turkey pairs beautifully with classic sides. I love serving it with garlic mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and cornbread stuffing.

For a complete holiday spread, add sweet potato casserole with marshmallows and honey glazed carrots. Don't forget the best homemade cranberry sauce on the side because you can never have too much cranberry.

Looking for lighter options? This turkey is fantastic over a fresh salad or with roasted asparagus. And if you've got leftovers (lucky you!), they make incredible sandwiches or easy chicken caesar wraps just swap the chicken for turkey.

Storing and Reheating

Leftover orange cranberry turkey breast keeps beautifully in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave with a splash of the gravy to keep it moist, or warm it in a covered dish in a 300°F oven for about 20 minutes.

You can also freeze the cooked turkey for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat as directed above.

Make your own! Mix 3 tablespoons dried minced onion, 2 teaspoons onion powder, 2 teaspoons parsley flakes, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon celery salt, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper.
